On Yuwi Country in Mackay's Cultural Precinct, this purpose-built gallery holds Australia's third-largest collection of artists' books — after the National Gallery and the State Library of Queensland — and runs the biennial Libris Awards, including a $3,000 acquisitive prize for tertiary students. Three changing exhibition spaces and a toddlers' art program round out a regional gallery punching well beyond its postcode.
