The Story
On Shannon Street in Birdwood, the National Motor Museum opens daily from 10am to 5pm. Exhibitions include Holden Heroes: a retrospective 1948-2017, on display until the end of 2026, and [Re]assembled, which traces a century of Australian motor manufacturing to the closure of the GM Holden factory doors. Elsewhere: Alice Anderson's 1919 garage, the first female-run garage in Australia, a searchable vehicle registration database, the George Brooks Library and Learning Centre, and an ongoing restoration of the Priscilla bus.
