Eight at the Gate Wines

Sisters Jane Richards and Claire Davies — eight children between them — bought Lanacoona Estate, an established Coonawarra vineyard, and built their own label around it. Claire, a Roseworthy viticulture graduate, runs the vines; winemaker Peter Douglas, long-time senior winemaker at Wynns Coonawarra Estate, handles the cellar. The name, settled on in 2013 over red wine, references the kids perpetually hanging off the farm gate.
