South African farming family — eight generations in the Swartland grain and sheep country before a 2019 move to Victoria — Dirk and Nika Bester now run this small winery and distillery in the hills above Everton Upper. The Beechworth estate also takes guests, with cottages on-site. The lineage is unconventional; so, presumably, are the bottles.
