Hyden Wave Rock Visitor Centre

Three hundred kilometres east of Perth, Wave Rock is the drawcard — a 2.7-billion-year-old granite formation that genuinely looks like a breaking wave. Around it: koalas and white kangaroos in the Wildlife Park, a Miniature Soldier Museum, an Antique Lace Collection, and Mulka's Cave with its Aboriginal rock art. The wildflower season, when sheoaks whisper and orchids line the walking trails, is the right time to come.
