Maria River Distillery

A holiday on the Amalfi Coast set this going: the family came home fixated on how Italians make limoncello in ten-litre jars, got it right after many attempts, then started distilling gin too. They work from a century-old family dairy farm on the Maria River, reached by car ferry, growing their own juniper, finger lime and myrtle. Alongside Amalfi-style cellos and a French-oak rum sits Ginello, billed as Australia's first gin-and-limoncello blend. Tours, tastings and antipasto platters are by booking.
