The Story
Henry Sebire felled the timber for his first house at Wandin Yallock in 1867. He had been a stonemason, so for the homestead that followed he dug clay from the dam and made the bricks by hand, giving the district its first brick house. His family gave the property away in 1993 and their descendants still run it. Five thousand objects in the museum, butter churns to pig scrapers, and a working forge.
