Mount Macedon Winery

Vines have grown on this volcanic western slope of Mount Macedon since 1989 — 680 metres up, in what the winery calls the toughest growing conditions on mainland Australia. The site carries its history plainly: formerly a dairy, then a blueberry farm, briefly tied to Olivia Newton-John's Koala Blue label. Now Dylan and Elisha Grimes run it, making wines shaped by altitude and thin patience.
