Philip Bacon Galleries

Opened in 1974 at the urging of Lawrence Daws, Margaret Olley, Charles Blackman and Robert Dickerson, and still run by the dealer whose name is on the door. Five rooms on Arthur Street, one of them given over entirely to works on paper. The gallery now holds the Olley, Jeffrey Smart and Fred Williams estates, and trades on the depth of its stockroom.
