Phillip Island and District Historical Society Museum

Run by the Phillip Island and District Historical Society, formed in 1941, this local history museum sits inside Berninneit, the Cowes Cultural Centre at the corner of Thompson Avenue and Church Street. It opened here in November 2023 after the earlier Heritage Centre closed in 2020, and pairs digital stories with historical artefacts and images. The collection covers the period from European encounter to the present, and opens during library hours.
