Port Macquarie Regional Museum
Port Macquarie & Hastings, NSW
The Story
Port Macquarie Regional Museum traces the mid-North Coast from Birpai Country through convict settlement, the cedar logging boom that shaped the region's economy in the 1800s, and the fishing and dairy industries that followed. Housed in a restored 1891 weatherboard building on Clarence Street, the collection holds artefacts and documents specific to these industries and the people who worked them.
