RD Milns Antiquities Museum

The collection began in 1963 with a fifth-century BC red-figure Attic amphora, bought at a London auction to support Classics teaching. It now runs to several thousand objects across roughly 3,500 years and is the only comprehensive survey of Mediterranean antiquities on public view in Queensland. The museum has stopped buying from the antiquities market and states plainly that only a handful of its objects have documented findspots.
