The Story
The main building here has a good story. Completed in March 1890 as a police barracks on the Dumaresq River, it flooded the night before its official opening, washed off its blocks and lodged between two trees. Rescued and relocated to Flemming Street, it now anchors a complex of a dozen period structures — shearing shed, smithy, jail, mission hall — open Saturdays for five dollars.
