WWII Bunker Museum
Victoria, VIC
The Story
Built in 1942, the bunker held wireless equipment and operators listening to coastal shipping and passing intelligence up to Melbourne. The RSL began restoring it in 2002 and the historical society runs it now, screening a short film that won the 2018 Victorian Community History multimedia award and holding local material on whaling, fishing and the pioneering years. A bush walk circles the perimeter, replanted since the 2019 fires.
