The Story

Jack Lewis started collecting shells in the 1960s and by 1972 was opening his Inverloch house to visitors. After his death a community trust bought the collection; two more collections were folded in, and it now runs to over 6,000 specimens, reviewed by members of the Malacological Society of Australia. Two dollars to see it. The same site holds dinosaur fossils from the Bunurong Coast and a seat that measures your wingspan against an albatross.
