Maryborough Military and Colonial Museum

John and Else Meyers bought the J. E. Brown building on Wharf Street in 2004 and built a memorial to their two children out of a private military collection. Some 11,000 items now cover colonial Maryborough and every conflict from the Boer War on, including the only Gallipoli Victoria Cross held in Australia outside the War Memorial. Around 100 volunteers run the place, and a pianist plays.
